Varanasi, 24 March (HS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday inaugurated the 3.8 km ropeway by pressing a button at Sampurnanand Sanskrit University here.
On this occasion, he said that whoever comes to Kashi, leaves with new energy. The development of Kashi is being discussed in the country and the world.
While addressing a public meeting, the Prime Minister said, “Ropeway is a good thing for those who are afraid of Banaras jam. After the construction of the ropeway, the distance between Banaras Cantt Railway Station and Kashi Vishwanath Corridor will be just a few minutes. The jam between Cantt to Godaulia will be history. The problem of commuting will also reduce a lot. People want to visit Banaras but think about how to travel in such a traffic jam. With the ropeway being built, it will be easier for them to visit Banaras.”
He said, “Within a year, more than seven crore tourists came to Kashi due to the efforts of the people of Banaras. These tourists are bringing with their means of income for every family of Banaras. Tourists are creating new opportunities for employment and self-employment.

The Prime Minister said, “The problem of drinking water is big in Purvanchal. In nine years, tap water is reaching eight crore houses. People have also benefited from the Ujjwala scheme. The Prime Minister may speak, but I consider myself a servant only. I am doing service.”
He said, “50 lakh people are coming to Varanasi every month. Work has been done to strengthen air connectivity. ATC tower is being built at Babatpur airport. There is a plan to do natural farming within a radius of five km on both sides of the Ganga. Today, small-town vegetables including Langda mangoes of Varanasi are being exported to foreign countries. This helps the farmers.”
While addressing, CM Yogi Adityanath said whenever the Prime Minister comes to Kashi, he comes with some new gift for Kashi.
He targeted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and appreciated the court proceedings against Rahul Gandhi’s statement ‘Desh ke saare Modi chor hai’. He said that Congress is not liking India’s development. By defaming India, they want to become an obstacle in development.
Yogi said that the former Congress President and MP refused to apologise for his statement. He has insulted India by speaking like this about a backward caste person. The court sentenced him for his acts. These people are working to divide the country. In the name of caste, they have done the work of dividing into different camps.
