ED Alleges Sale of 5k Jobs in West Bengal Through Corruption

Kolkata, 20 March (HS): The recruitment process of almost all the offices in the West Bengal government was allegedly done through corrupt means, according to an ED lawyer in the court on Monday while seeking custody of Ayan Sheel. The ED lawyer claimed that Ayan Sheel was involved in selling at least 5,000 jobs in 60 municipalities across the state.

The ED has alleged that Ayan Sheel was involved in a recruitment scam worth at least 50 crores, and 25 crores of the scam were deposited in his account. During its investigation into the recruitment scam of the education department, the ED found that Ayan Sheel was given tenders for various municipal works, and influential people were associated with him.

The ED lawyer also revealed that this information was obtained from Ayan Sheel’s laptop, mobile, and Macbook. This revelation has caused a stir in the state, as it raises questions about the integrity of the government recruitment process and the potential widespread corruption in the system.

If the allegations are proven to be true, it would be a massive blow to the credibility of the West Bengal government and could lead to a significant loss of public trust.
