Sonitpur (Assam), 26 March (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma has made a bold assertion, stating that the Congress party will witness a significant exodus by the time of the 2026 elections. #AssamCM #CongressExodus #BJPLeadership
Addressing the media, Sarma remarked that Congress candidate from Sonitpur, Premlal Ganju, is slated to join the BJP following a call from the Chief Minister himself. #RahulGandhi #NarendraModi #Election2026
Sarma emphasized that voting for the Congress candidate equates to supporting Rahul Gandhi, while voting for the BJP signifies support for Narendra Modi’s leadership and the vision of a developed India. He stressed that those aspiring for a developed nation under Modi’s guidance will invariably vote for the BJP.
In a scathing assessment of Rahul Gandhi’s prospects, Sarma suggested that the Congress leader lacks a promising future, rendering support for him futile. He questioned the viability of a party whose leader faces such uncertainty.
The Chief Minister asserted a looming exodus from the Congress ranks, predicting that individuals committed to nation-building will gravitate towards the BJP. He highlighted the steady influx of grassroots Congress supporters into the BJP fold, contrasting it with high-profile defections reported in the media.
Sarma’s comments come ahead of his scheduled attendance at the nomination filing ceremony for BJP candidates in Dibrugarh, including union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal. The Chief Minister also visited the residence of BJP candidate Ranjit Dutta in Sonitpur, extending his support and solidarity.
