Gorakhpur, 25 March (HS): Chief Minister and Gorakshpeethadhishwar Yogi Adityanath embarked on a visit to Gorakhpur on Sunday to partake in the special and heritage events of Rangotsav. The festive fervor kicked off on Sunday evening with his participation in the Holika Dahan procession originating from Pandeyhata. On Tuesday, he is set to inaugurate the colorful procession of Lord Narasimha originating from Ghantaghar.
Amidst this joyous atmosphere, Monday morning witnessed a solemn ritual as CM Yogi performed Rudrabhishek in the Gorakhnath temple, seeking blessings from Devadhidev Lord Bholenath for the welfare of the people and the world. Within the sacred confines of the Shakti temple located on the first floor of the Gorakhnath temple residence, CM Yogi offered Vilva Patra and lotus flowers to Devadhidev Mahadev.
Following the traditional offerings, Rudrabhishek commenced with milk and sugarcane juice, guided by the learned priests of the Math chanting the Mahamantras of Rudrashtadhyayi from the Shukla Yajurveda Samhita. Havan and Aarti ensued amidst the resonating chants of Vedic mantras, invoking divine blessings upon all. Post the rituals, CM Yogi extended heartfelt wishes for a healthy, happy, prosperous, and peaceful life to the people of the state.
The Rudrabhishek ritual saw the esteemed presence of the head priest of Gorakhnath temple, Yogi Kamal Nath, Mahamandaleshwar Santosh Das alias Satua Baba, Dr. Arvind Chaturvedi, Ashwani Tripathi, among others, who came from Kashi. Additionally, CM Yogi undertook cow service in the temple’s cowshed, attending to the well-being of the bovine residents with personal care and affection.
In a heartwarming gesture, CM Yogi fed the cows jaggery, individually addressing them by names like Shyama, Gauri, Ganga, and Bhola. His familiar voice drew the cows towards him, reflecting a unique bond between man and animal.
