In a daring operation amidst a severe snowstorm and landslide in Jammu’s Banihal area, the Indian Army successfully rescued over 80 individuals, including students and staff from the Rajasthan Law College, stranded on the Jammu-Srinagar highway. The group, comprising 74 students and 7 staff members, faced peril after heavy snowfall and landslides disrupted the highway, trapping them. Swift action by the army troops ensured their safety, providing essential aid including food and shelter. The heroic effort was praised by Mohanlal Sukhadia University’s Principal, Professor Kalpesh Nikawat, acknowledging the army’s swift response and hospitality during the crisis. Despite the harrowing experience, the students and staff expressed gratitude for the army’s support, marking a memorable end to their trip to Kashmir.
