Bombing in BJP’s street corner meeting in Dinhata

Cooch Behar, February 14 (HS): Bombs were hurled and vehicles vandalised in BJP’s street corner meeting at Nazihat market of Dinhata on Tuesday evening.

The local BJP leadership accused the local Trinamool Congress workers of the attack. However, the local Trinamool leadership accused the BJP of creating ruckus in their meeting. There is a lot of tension in the area after the incident.

Cooch Behar District BJP Secretary Ajay Roy said that their previously announced street corner meeting was being held in Nazirhat market on Tuesday evening. OBC Morcha”s central leader Mafuja Khatoon was speaking there. Then suddenly a group of Trinamool Congress miscreants attacked the meeting and vandalized the vehicles present. Ajay Roy also claimed that many BJP worker-supporters have been seriously injured in the attack by Trinamool-backed miscreants.

However, this allegation of BJP has been completely rejected by the TMC camp. Trinamool Congress President Deepak Bhattacharya said that BJP does this drama when elections come. He said that on the instructions of Cooch Behar District Trinamool Congress, he held a street corner meeting at Nazirhat market. The BJP goons tried to disrupt the meeting. Deepak Bhattacharya said, ?Some people came to the market and started saying provocative things. After that our meeting was attacked. We have lodged a written complaint in the local police station.”
