Hyderabad, 8 February (H.S): The Telangana Legislative Assembly’s budget session is set to commence today, with discussions and debates surrounding irrigation issues and the implementation of two poll guarantees by the ruling Congress party.
Governor Tamilisai Soundararjan will deliver her customary address at the joint sitting of the legislature, marking the beginning of the session. In light of this being the first budget session since the Congress party took power in the state, it is anticipated that the focus will be on issues related to irrigation, with attention specifically on the subject of handing over control of Krishna River projects to the Krishna River Management Board (KRMB).
These discussions are likely to be heated, as both opposition and ruling parties have strong opinions and differing approaches towards resolving this issue. The outcome of this budget session will greatly impact the state’s irrigation policies and the overall development of Telangana.
