Lucknow, 6 Feb (HS): Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak mocked former Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday, claiming that no one accepts him. When questioned about Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, Pathak told reporters, “That is not a nyay yatra. It will pass unnoticed. There is a proverb in our village, ‘patli gali se nikal lena’ (choose the narrow route and move ahead).”
“Rahul Gandhi has absolutely failed. We all understand why he is being relaunched because he has failed and no one is embracing him,” Pathak said. The Congress Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, which began in Manipur on January 14 under Rahul Gandhi’s leadership, will enter Uttar Pradesh on February 14.
Regarding the opposition alliance INDIA, the deputy chief minister stated, “When this alliance was formed, I had said it is ‘purana maal’ (old set of people) in a new packaging.”
“This is a group of members from UPA-1 and UPA-2 who are extensively involved in corruption and malpractices. This is a collection of power-hungry individuals. They have nothing to do with the people of the country or the state,” he stated.
“Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, we have successfully lifted a huge number of people out of poverty through poor relief measures in Uttar Pradesh. The most important thing is that these schemes have benefited the people,” he remarked.
The BJP has earned the people’s trust and has succeeded in enhancing their living standards, he stated. Pathak further said that in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the BJP will win all 80 seats in the state by a large margin.
Pathak spoke on the Uttarakhand government’s Uniform Civil Code Bill in the assembly, saying, “You must have noticed the notion of enacting the UCC in the BJP platform. You will receive additional information about it soon.”
