Hyderabad/Delhi, 30 November (H.S): The 2018 assembly polls in Hyderabad saw a low voter turnout in various constituencies, with the highest being at just 20.15 percent in Karwan and the lowest at 5.28 percent in Yakutpura. However, on 30 November 2023, there have been various efforts from different quarters to increase the polling percentage in these areas.

By 11 am, an average voter turnout of 12.39 percent has been recorded, with the highest at 20.15 percent in Karwan and the lowest at 5.28 percent in Yakutpura.

Earlier, at 9 am, the average turnout was even lower at 4.97 percent, with Karwan having the highest at 15.15 percent and Yakutpura having the lowest at just 0.53 percent.

In an effort to increase voter turnout, a status tracker was set up to show real-time waiting times at polling stations and Rapido provided free rides to polling stations.

Despite tight security measures in place across Telangana, there is hope that the voter turnout will continue to increase as polling is still ongoing in Hyderabad constituencies.

It is crucial for all citizens to exercise their right to vote and participate in the democratic process for a fair and just government to be elected.
