Higher reaches in Himachal witnessing light snowfall

Shimla, 30 November (HS): Due to the activity of western disturbances in Himachal Pradesh, the higher reaches in Lahaul-Spiti, Kinnaur, and Kullu districts are witnessing intermittent snowfal.

It rained at some places in the plains and mid-hill areas of the state. In the capital, Shimla, too has been cloudy since Thursday morning, and there has been a light drizzle. The weather in Shimla remains favourable for snowfall. Here, tourists are waiting for the first snowfall of the season. Last winter season, tourists were disappointed due to the lack of snow in Shimla city.

Due to these weather conditions, the entire state if facing extremely dropped temperatures. The minimum temperature in about a dozen cities has declined. Kalpa in Kinnaur district was the coldest place, where the minimum temperature was recorded at 0.8 degrees Celsius.

According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, the weather will remain bad during the next 24 hours as well.
