Lucknow, 29 Nov (HS): On Wednesday, the Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh presented the Assembly with the supplementary budget for the fiscal year 2023-24. On the second day of the winter session, Finance Minister Suresh Khanna submitted a supplemental budget of ?26760.67 crore before the House. The administration has allocated funds in this supplementary budget for several new initiatives.
Finance Minister Khanna stated during the presentation of the supplementary budget in the House that the proposed amount of the supplementary budget for the fiscal year 2023-24 is ?26,760.67 crore. The revenue account expenditure is ?19,46,39 crore, and the capital account expenditure is ?9,714 crore. Proposed supplemental demand includes recommendations for total fresh demand of ?7,421.21 crore, including proposals for current initiatives of ?21,339.46 crore.
In addition, the supplementary budget includes incentives for farmers, including ?900 crore for free electricity and ?400 crore for settling sugarcane growers’ debts. The supplementary budget also includes funds for the development of the state capital region (SCR). The Yogi government’s supplementary budget includes a ?2000 crore allocation for the Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana. The PM Mitra Scheme would provide ?510 crore for the creation of the PM Mega Integrated Textile Zone and Apparel Park in Lucknow-Hardoi. The implementation of the Uttar Pradesh Data Center Policy would cost ?100 crore.
