Delhi/Uttarkashi, 28 November (H.S): All the workers came out of Silkyara tunnel safely. The incredible perseverance and determination of the rescue team were put to the ultimate test as they worked tirelessly for over 400 hours to reach the 41 trapped workers in the Uttarkashi tunnel. The operation, which began on November 12, faced numerous setbacks and challenges, with a drilling machine giving way and miners having to dig through the last 12 metres to reach the trapped men. Finally, after capping the operation, the first worker was successfully rescued at around 8 PM and taken to a medical centre in an ambulance. With each worker taking 3-5 minutes to be pulled out on stretchers, a temporary medical facility has been set up inside the tunnel for their immediate health check-up. The health department has also arranged for 8 beds and a team of doctors and experts to provide any necessary assistance.
The news of the successful rescue of 41 workers trapped inside the Silkyara tunnel in Uttarakhand since November 12 has brought a sense of relief and celebration to the entire nation.
