Police remove 300 loudspeakers from Kanpur religious places

Kanpur, 28 Nov (HS): In accordance with the orders of the Uttar Pradesh government, the Kanpur Police dismantled 300 loudspeakers deemed to be in violation of statutory rules in a drive that began on November 26.

Kanpur Police took action after Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath issued orders to remove loudspeakers or sound amplifiers that violated the rules or exceeded the decibel limit. Religious leaders from the Hindu and Muslim communities are seen in one of the films removing loudspeakers from temples and mosques in the presence of Kanpur police officers.

Following the Kanpur Police’s effort, other religious leaders from throughout the city have also removed loudspeakers on their own. The state administration also initiated a similar drive in April last year to remove loudspeakers from religious buildings around the state.
