Legal notice to CPM leader Jack C. Thomas for using abusive language about PM Modi

New Delhi, November 27 (HS): The organiser’s former editor, Dr. R. Balashankar has sent a legal notice to CPM leader Jack C. Thomas for using abusive language against Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a debate on Malayalam news channel Asianet. The legal notice has asked for a public apology within seven days. Failure to do so has resulted in legal action.

The legal notice states that Thomas used the word Naradham for Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a discussion on the Asianet News Channel on November 20. The guests and news anchors sitting in the panel discussion objected to the use of derogatory words about the Prime Minister. Even then, Jack C. Thomas did not withdraw his statement.

The legal notice states that Jack C. Thomas has tried to lower the dignity of the Prime Minister by using objectionable words about Prime Minister Modi. Apart from hate speech, this also falls under defamation. The notice said that Thomas’s statements have hurt the sentiments of Dr. R. Balashankar. If Thomas does not tender a public apology within seven days, Dr. R. Balashankar will initiate appropriate legal action.
