Imphal (Manipur), December 21 (HS): Manipur Police detained 257 persons in connection with violations of different sections of the Indian penal code in various districts of the state.
The movement of 185 vehicles on NH 2 and 216 on NH 37 has been ensured along with essential commodities, police said on Thursday. Stringent security measures have been put in place at all sensitive places to ensure free and secure movement of vehicles.
Security forces have been deployed in a large number in sensitive areas. As many as 142 checkpoints and check-posts have been set up in different districts of Manipur, both in the hills and in the valley, police said.
