PM expresses eagerness for Smart India Hackathon

New Delhi, 19 December (HS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Tuesday that he is looking forward to interacting with the participants of the grand finale of the Smart India Hackathon 2023.

Prime Minister Modi wrote on social media platforms. He said,” I am happy to know more about the record innovations being made by our youth, the results of which will significantly enhance India’s progress journey.” The Prime Minister further urged to join the program and support youth power.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with the participants of the grand finale of Smart India Hackathon 2023 today (December 19) at 9:30 p.m. via video conferencing. The Prime Minister will also address the participants on this occasion.

This year, the grand finale of SIH is being organized from December 19 to 23. In SIH 2023, more than 50,000 ideas were received from 44,000 teams, marking an almost seven-fold increase compared to the first SIH. More than 12,000 participants and more than 2500 mentors will participate in the grand finale to be held at 48 nodal centers across the country. A total of 1282 teams have been selected for the grand finale this year to provide solutions on various themes, including space technology, smart education, disaster management, robotics and drones, heritage, and culture.

The participating teams will provide solutions to 231 problem statements (176 software and 55 hardware) posted by 25 Central Ministries and 51 Departments of State Governments. The total prize fund of the Smart India Hackathon 2023 is more than Rs 2 crore, and each winning team will be given a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh per problem statement.
