Meerut, 18 Dec (HS): In Swami Vivekananda Subharti University, Meerut, a student from Sitamarhi district of Bihar committed suicide by jumping from the roof of the hostel. The student was admitted to Subharti Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. Police have not found any suicide note yet.
Shashi Ranjan from Sitamarhi district of Bihar was a first year BCA student at Swami Vivekananda Subharti University, Meerut. He lived in a hostel built in the university campus. Late on Sunday night, Shashi Ranjan jumped from the fourth floor of the hostel. He was admitted to Subharti Hospital in critical condition, where doctors declared him dead. Police reached the spot after receiving the information and conducted investigation and sent the body for post-mortem. On Monday, the police again reached the hostel and investigated.
Police have not found any suicide note yet. The family members of the student have been informed and they have left for Meerut from their home. It is said that two girl students also studied with Shashi Ranjan.
He wanted to talk to a student on phone at night, but could not talk. There was a dispute between the two regarding some issue. Due to this stress, the student committed suicide. Police are also scanning the CCTV cameras installed in the hostel and interrogating the students. According to SP Dehat Kamlesh Bahadur, the police is investigating the matter. No suicide note has been found yet.
