Delhi, 18 December (HS): The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted searches at over 19 locations in the country on Monday as part of its ongoing investigation into a radicalised terror group. According to agency sources, the searches began early in the morning and are linked to the recent busting of a major IS terror group.
Last week, the NIA had carried out similar searches at 44 locations and arrested 15 individuals in connection with the same case. During these raids, the agency seized a significant amount of unaccounted cash, weapons, sharp implements, sensitive documents, and digital devices.
NIA officials revealed that the accused were acting on the instructions of foreign handlers and had been actively involved in carrying out terror activities in India.
