New Delhi, 17 November (HS): Due to smoke and fog in the national capital Delhi and surrounding metros, the blanket of pollutants in the atmosphere is continuously getting thicker. According to the Central Pollution Control Board, the overall air quality index (AQI) level in Delhi-NCR crossed the 500 mark on Friday morning. AQI was 447 in Anand Vihar, 469 in RKpuram, 484 in Punjabi Bagh and 445 in ITO. Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department has said that along with pollution, fog will also start appearing in Delhi-NCR in the next few days.

According to the board, so far in the 16 days of November, the air quality in Delhi has been in the poor category for three days, five days for very poor, six days for severe and two days for dangerous category.
