End of the Road for the Extorting Industrialists of Fake Mathadi?

Extortionists and Blackmailers pestering Maharashtra’s businesses under the pretence of Mathadi workers would not be spared moving forward, according to Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who claimed on Saturday that the police have been given wide reign to deal with the situation. He was giving a speech in Pune. DCM also issued a warning to the officers present, saying that they would be the ones to suffer consequences first for disobeying such distress calls from the business community. Without sparing even the politicians, he roared that any politician who used the labourer as a shield to further his own agenda and business interests would also not escape punishment. Like Mumbai, Pune is a growth engine, and the state government will work to speed up development.

 He made startling revelations when he claimed that the pressure tactics from such extortionists and blackmailers made an investor, who wanted to pump in 6,000 crores in Maharashtra, flee to another state. The ecosystem of blackmailers was a major hurdle in getting more investments in Maharashtra and once tackled will get more jobs for the youth.

He also appealed to the politicians by saying that, “Don’t get politics involved with Business”. While he appealed, he also made sure to pass on a stern warning from the dais when he said that,” Even the erring politicians will not be spared”. “Don’t use laborers and their safety concerns as a shield to fulfill your political and commercial agenda, he concluded.
