Defence Ministry employee killed in road accident in UP

Ballia, 15 Dec (HS): Police reported on Friday that a Defence Ministry employee who had traveled to his hometown on leave was killed after being struck by an unknown car in the area.

Hemant Kannaujiya (32) was riding his motorbike to Belthara Road when he was hit by an unknown car late Thursday night in Haldi Rampur, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Ubhaon police station, according to SHO DK Srivastava. After receiving information about the accident, police arrived on the scene and transported the deceased for a post-mortem examination. According to the SHO, Hemant Kannaujiya, a Domanpura village inhabitant, works at the Defense Ministry. He was on leave from his job as a clerk in the accounts office in Pune. The SHO stated that police have initiated an investigation to find the evading motorist whose car struck Kannaujiya.
