Both countries have expressed the hope of its completion soon. The Ministry of Commerce and Industry gave this information.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the Ministry of Commerce said that India and Italy discussed the progress of the proposed FTA negotiations between Delhi and the European Union (EU). Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal raised the issue during a meeting between Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Antonio Tajani on April 12. In the meeting with Tajani, Goyal also stressed increasing bilateral cooperation in the field of clean energy to reduce the negative impact of climate change.
