New Delhi, 13 April (HS): The central government has approved road projects worth Rs 2673 crore in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Chhattisgarh and Uttar Pradesh. Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has given information about this by tweeting. He informed that widening and strengthening to 2-lane of the existing Srinagar-Baramulla-Uri (NH-01) road in the Baramulla district of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has been approved at a cost of Rs 702.10 crore. In Punjab, the work of rehabilitation and upgradation of the road from Kangar bypass to Rampura bypass in Patti-Jawahar Singh Wala-Kanger-Salabatpura section on National Highway 254 to 2-lane including paved shoulder has been approved at a cost of Rs 174.50 crore.
Jaunpur-Akbarpur section and Akbarpur Bypass on NH 135A Package-III in Sultanpur, Azamgarh and Ambedkar Nagar districts of Uttar Pradesh has been approved for 4-lane under Hybrid Annuity Mode at a cost of Rs 1653.15 crore.
In addition, the construction of a 2-lane road with a paved shoulder of Ambikapur bypass (Sanjaynagar to Rajpuri Khurd village section) of Ambikapur Ramanujganj Garhwa Road on National Highway 343 in Surajpur and Surguja districts of Chhattisgarh under EPC mode at a cost of Rs 143.94 crore.
