Taking note of the claims, the district magistrate ordered an investigation and a re-examination of the post-mortem. Puja, 20, was reportedly murdered for dowry, and her body was discovered hanging in the Rasula hamlet in the district’s Mujaria sector on Sunday. On Monday, the body was transported for a post-mortem examination.
The eyes had been removed when the body was turned over to family members. Family members said that the eyes were removed during the post-mortem examination.
They also went to District Magistrate Manoj Kumar and sought stern punishment against the doctor and staff members, accusing them of being complicit in organ trafficking.
“The woman’s family members met with me and filed a complaint against doctors for taking action. An inquiry has been ordered, and the post-mortem examination will be repeated. If someone is proven guilty, strict action would be taken,” Kumar added. According to Chief Medical Officer Pradeep Varshney, the district magistrate ordered that the second post-mortem be done on camera and that a report be presented to him.
