Gangtok/Delhi, 11 December (HS): Spiritual leader the 14th Dalai Lama is arriving in Sikkim on a four-day visit starting on Monday. He will participate in the programme organised in the capital, Gangtok, on December 12. Dalai Lama will return from Sikkim on December 14.
Extensive preparations were made in the state for the arrival of the Dalai Lama. A large number of followers from all six districts of Sikkim as well as from outside the state will be present for his darshan. Keeping this in mind, all preparations have been made to ensure tight security and smooth traffic movement.
The Dalai Lama will deliver blessings to his followers while delivering a sermon at the Paljor Stadium here on Tuesday. His discourse will focus on the ’37 Practices of the Bodhisattva and the Bodhisattva Creation Ceremony’.
Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang, ministers, MLAs, and other distinguished citizens will be present in the program. He will return from Sikkim on December 14, after taking a rest on December 13. It is noteworthy that he was expected to visit Sikkim earlier in October but his programme was postponed due to the Teesta deluge on the night of October 3/4.
