Itanagar, 10 April (HS): union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah will launch the ‘Vibrant Village Programme today (Monday) in Arunachal Pradesh’s border village Kibitu. The government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved the ‘Vibrant Village Programme’ with a central contribution of Rs 4800 crore, including Rs 2500 crore specifically for road connectivity between the financial years 2022-23 and 2025-26.
This programme will help improve the quality of life for the people of the identified border villages. Also, we will encourage them to stay in their native places. This will stop migration and help increase the security of the border. 2967 villages in 46 blocks of 19 districts along the northern border in Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and the Union Territory of Ladakh have been selected for the ‘Vibrant Village Programme’.
Union Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate nine micro-hydel projects in Arunachal Pradesh built under the “Golden Jubilee Border Lighting Programme”. Along with this, after unveiling the projects of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force, he will also interact with the force’s personnel. The Union Home and Cooperation Minister will visit Namti Maidan and pay homage at the Walong War Memorial.
