Ranchi, 10 Dec (HS): Jharkhand Congress in-charge Avinash Pandey said on Sunday that a statement from party MP Dheeraj Sahu has been sought in connection with the recovery of large sums of money from properties associated with him. Pandey, on the other hand, underlined that it is a private affair between Dheeraj Sahu and the party.
“Since he is a Congress MP, he should make an official statement about how such a large sum of money came to him,” Pandey said at Ranchi’s Birsa Munda airport while addressing to reporters.
“The party’s clear stand is that it is a private matter of Dheeraj Sahu, which has nothing to do with the Congress party,” he added.
Pandey stated that the Income-Tax agency has not yet issued an official statement on the raid and recovery, but the manner in which charges are being made linking the party is regrettable. “The family has been in business here for over 100 years, and it is the family’s joint venture.” Dheeraj Sahu is only a byproduct of the company. However, Sahu should explain how such a large sum came to him,” Pandey added. He did, however, say that the Income Tax Department should issue an official declaration regarding the amount of cash and how it arrived.
