Lucknow, 8 Dec (HS): The four-day 69th National Convention, being organized in the 75th year of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, was inaugurated by union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah at the Madandas Devi Auditorium of Indraprastha Nagar, a tent city set up at the DDA Ground in Burari, Delhi. On the occasion of inauguration of the National Convention of Vidyarthi Parishad, Amit Shah also released the theme song of the Vidyarthi Parishad and 5 books based on national consciousness.
In the national convention of ABVP, more than ten thousand students from every district and university-college campus of the country have reached DDA grounds in Burari, Delhi to be a part of this Mahakumbh. In this convention, a huge exhibition with 8 themes based on cultural nationalism has been organized in which the Indian Independence Movement, National Integration, the historical journey of 75 years of Vidyarthi Parishad has been depicted. This exhibition has been dedicated in the name of Late Dattaji Didolkar, the founder member of the Parishad and senior campaigner of the Sangh.. For the convention, a tent city has been set up in the form of historical Indraprastha city in the vast campus spread over 52 acres, where students from every corner of the country will stay for 4 days.
This year is also the 350th anniversary of the coronation of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. On this occasion, ABVP also started the Hindavi Swarajya Yatra from Raigad Fort in Maharashtra on 28th November, which passed through 75 districts of the country and collected soil from different places in urns and ended on 7th December at the National Convention venue of Vidyarthi Parishad.
Setting a record in the convention, after the flag hoisting, Vande Mataram was sung collectively by 8500 students and 150 disabled students. Today’s worldwide form of ABVP, established and functioning in struggling circumstances, is the result of its penance of these 75 years of struggles. Today, with 50,65,264 active membership, it is present in every educational campus of India and is also working effectively in the areas of social, environmental, service, sports, etc., providing viable options.
Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, who was present as the chief guest at the inauguration of the 69th national convention of ABVP’s Amrit Mahotsav year, said that I remember the time four decades ago when I used to sit in the back row as a worker. ?The role of the Council is important in keeping the North-East connected with the country after the China War. I am proud that I have been associated with Vidyarthi Parishad. Amit Shah said that ABVP is the idol which many great craftsmen like Yashwantrao Kelkar, Madandas Devi, Dattaji Didolkar have carved in this journey of 75 years. Be it the movement for language and education or preserving the culture, in every field the Vidyarthi Parishad has told the society the importance of ‘self’ through the youth.?
In the context of India’s growing stature in the world, he said that this is the time to live for the country; the youth should leave this convention with the resolve to dedicate their lives to Mother India and also unite the society in this direction.
National President of ABVP, Dr. Rajsharan Shahi said that this convention organized on the dedication of the cause, sanctity of the place and suitability of the time, is a great yagya for the workers of the Parishad. ?ABVP is continuously taking forward its mission journey with time. In the glorious journey of 75 years, Vidyarthi Parishad has not only posed questions but also presented their solutions and has worked to introduce the youth of India to the real history of India,? he added.
ABVP’s National General Secretary Yajnavalkya Shukla said that ABVP is a movement to bring about positive changes. Vidyarthi Parishad launched Mission Sahasya across the country with the aim of imparting self-defense training to girl students. ABVP has successfully led the movements on many issues due to its tenacity, renunciation and sacrifice; today its positive results have also been seen. Vidyarthi Parishad has crossed the 50 lakh membership mark; this is a very proud moment for the youth under the leadership of the Parishad as a student organization.
