Rae Bareli, 6 Dec (HS): According to authorities, a doctor assigned to a Railway hospital here reportedly murdered his wife and two children before committing suicide. Arun Kumar Singh (45), from Mirzapur, has worked as an eye specialist at the Modern Rail Coach Factory Hospital. He resided in a residence within the hospital complex with his wife Archana (40), son Aarav (4), and daughter Ariba (12).
The incident was reported to police on Tuesday late night, when no one from the doctor’s family returned phone calls. The bodies were discovered when cops smashed down the door.
According to Superintendent of Police Alok Priyadarshi, Singh appears to have injected his children with a medication to render them unconscious before killing them. The kids died of head injuries, while Singh was discovered hanging.
According to preliminary findings, the doctor was depressed. The family was last seen two days ago on Sunday, according to residents in the area.
