Lucknow, 6 April (HS): The government of Uttar Pradesh, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has announced that major official buildings in the state capital, including the Vidhan Bhavan and the Secretariat Complex, will be renovated shortly. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath gave directions in this respect during a high-level meeting with senior officials from the State Property Department. In the first phase, the government has already set out 50 crores to refurbish the Vidhan Bhavan and Secretariat buildings. The State Property Department told the Chief Minister at the meeting that the site selection procedure for the first phase of construction had been completed. The Department of Housing and Urban Planning will now take additional measures.
The consultant, on the other hand, will be chosen by the planning department. According to the promises made, the selection process would be finished within the next three months. CM Yogi also instructed State Property Department personnel to take the appropriate steps before construction. In addition to the Vidhan Bhawan and Secretariat complex, several of Lucknow’s ageing government institutions will be renovated. The meeting also covered the budget and action plan for this.
The State Property Department has also finished the site selection process for new class-2 houses at Old Driver Colony, Dalibagh in Lucknow, as well as new class-2 and class-3 houses in Metropolitan Secretariat Colony. Moreover, old, outdated residences are being razed in both places. The executive body has also been designated to carry out the exercise, and the process of compiling the estimate as well as the DPR is now underway.
