New Delhi, 6 December (HS): union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari reiterated the government’s commitment to alternative and biofuels on Wednesday. He said that ethanol pumps will soon be started in the country.
Gadkari said during Question Hour in Rajya Sabha that pollution spreads due to petrol and diesel as well. The government has taken several steps to promote alternative fuels and biofuels. Different types of experiments have been done on alternative fuels. Ethanol pumps will soon be installed in the country. We are promoting ethanol. E-vehicles and hydrogen vehicles are being promoted.
He said that green hydrogen is the fuel of the future; hence, the government has created the Green Hydrogen Mission. A vehicle with 100 percent ethanol will be launched in the country. India has to be established as an energy-exporting country. Efforts are continuing to improve the economic condition of farmers.
