Dar es Salaam, 6 December (HS): “India and Tanzania have enjoyed great bilateral relationships in each sphere over the years. Be it trade, commerce or culture the two countries have made steady progress. The highly successful visit of the head of state of Tanzania along with a large team of delegates during October 2023 has further strengthened the bilateral relationships. The fact that Tanzania gets the highest number of scholarships under the ITEC program validates the progressive, collaborative efforts. And we are happy to launch the Tanzania Alumni Of India Association, TAI this day ” said His Excellency Binaya S Pradhan, High Commissioner of India to Tanzania in his opening remarks.
“Indian culture is not just about music, dance or big fat weddings. But beyond these activities, the philosophy of Indian culture is about spiritual Democracy. Every Indian living abroad is the cultural ambassador of India. We treat each home of an Indian diaspora as an Indian cultural centre. Worshipping of mother earth is a part of our ethos. The core of the Indian culture is the concept of Vasudaiva Kutumbakam. Confluence with mother earth has been the way of our life. We at the ICCR are doing our best to put these in to practice through the ICCR centre whether it’s in India or abroad”, he added.
“The Indian diaspora spread across the globe can bring about change through their daily conduct. As Indians, we do enjoy goodwill. It’s important for us to translate this goodwill into spreading the cultural diversity in whichever country they live. And when the global community understands India, the concept of Vasudeva Kutumbakam manifests in its true form”, remarked Dr Vinay Sahasrabudde , President, ICCR in his while addressing a huge gathering of Indian diaspora at the Swami Vivekananda Cultural centre SVCC Dar Es Salaam Tanzania.
The evening also marked the the official launch of TAI in the presence of each of the stake holders. A scintillating collaborative performance under the guidance of the teachers of SVCC in vocal music, percussion and yoga faculties received a standing ovation from the crowd.

And we wish to thank each one for the support in making this evening a memorable one” Dr Soumya Manjunath Chavan, Director, Swami Vivekananda Cultural centre , SVCC Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania said in her thanks giving speech .
