Huge cache of arms and ammunition recovered in Manipur

Imphal, December, 05 (HS): In Manipur, a huge cache of arms and ammunition has been recovered. A joint operation by Manipur Police and Assam Rifles has achieved major success, police said today.

Search operations were conducted by security forces in the border and sensitive areas of Kakching, Bishnupur, Imphal East, Thoubal, Imphal West and Kangpokpi districts.

Three SMG carbines with three empty magazines, 15 HE-36 hand grenades without detonators, six WP smoke grenades without detonators, 18 two inch mortar HE bombs and six No. 75 MK-II detonators were recovered from Imphal East during the operation.

One AK-56 rifle with two magazines, one single barrel rifle, one Chinese grenade, one mortar round, 100 rounds of AK-56 ammunition, seven fired holsters of single barrel rifle were recovered from Kangpokpi district.
