Firozabad, 4 Dec (HS): According to officials, three children were killed in a fire in Khadit hamlet in the Jasrana officials Station area on Monday. Late Sunday night, the youngsters were asleep in their hut in the Dera Banjara neighborhood when it caught fire.
Shakil, the children’s father, attempted to save them but lost two of them in the fire. The third succumbed to burn injuries at a hospital. Shakil, who also suffered major burn injuries, is being treated in an Agra hospital, according to SP Rural Ranvijay Singh.
Saamna, 7, Anees, 4, and Reshma, 2, were the three siblings. Anees and Reshma died on the spot, while Saamana died at a hospital in Firozabad, according to Singh.
Shakil and his wife Mamjadi were sleeping in the hut when they awoke to discover it on fire and attempted to save the children. The family is receiving assistance from the Disaster Relief Fund, according to District Magistrate Ujjwal Kumar. To examine the event, a team led by SDM Jasrana has been created.
