New Delhi, 2 December (HS): The effect of low visibility due to fog during the winter season is being seen at Indira Gandhi International Airport in the capital. Due to this, many flights had to be diverted to other airports today. Vistara Airlines flights had to be diverted to Ahmedabad, Jaipur, and Amritsar airports instead of Delhi. Air passengers also faced a lot of trouble due to flight diversion.
Of these, five flights by Vistara Airlines alone have been diverted. Flight number UK 906 was coming from Ahmedabad to Delhi. He was diverted back to Ahmedabad. After this, international flight number UK 26, which was coming from Frankfurt to Delhi, had to be diverted to Amritsar airport. The flight landed at that airport around 11 o’clock.
Flight number UK 832, which was coming from Chennai to Delhi, also had to be diverted to Amritsar Airport. Flight number UK 954, which was coming from Mumbai to Delhi, had to be diverted to Jaipur airport. Around 8:42 in the morning, that flight was again dispatched from Jaipur to Delhi after visibility improved at the airport.
Apart from this, flight number UK 928, which was coming from Mumbai to Delhi, was also diverted to Jaipur airport. Its landing was done at 09.45 in the morning. As the fog increases in the coming days, visibility at IGI Airport will reduce, and the number of diverted flights may increase further.
