Kolkata, 2 December (HS): The 17th regional conference for practising company secretaries was organized by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) in Kolkata on Saturday. The theme of this year’s conference is “Becoming a global leader in promoting good corporate governance.” The mission of this conference is to produce high-calibre professionals who facilitate good corporate governance.
The theme of the second technical session is ?Building the Future: How SME IPOs are Shaping India.? The panellists included CS Mamta Binani (former President, ICSI and President, West Bengal MSME Development Forum), CA Aman Singh Bhadauria (Manager, GYR Capital Advisors Pvt. Ltd.), CS Bharat Sahu (Deputy Company Secretary, NALCO), and CS B Narasimhan (ICSI Vice President).
Speaking on the occasion, CS (Dr.) Mamta Binani (former President of ICSI and President of the West Bengal MSME Development Forum) said, ?The world is going through war, serious disease, and some anti-incumbency issues, while the Indian economy is at a higher level than the entire world. It is a subject of attraction. This has been a topic of discussion for industrialists, businessmen, and especially small and medium enterprises.
MSME sector, contributes about 40 percent to the country’s GDP. The GDP of each state is a very important part of it. There are separate platforms for MSME companies in the country to encourage their listing; considering their size, this measure provides greater visibility and flexibility.
