Agartala (Tripura), December, 02 (HS): An earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale hit Tripura at around 9 am today.
According to the National Centre for Seismology the earthquake were felt in many parts of Tripura’s neighbouring states also. Its center was located in Bangladesh at a depth of 55 kilometers from the ground level.
Tripura is located in Seismic Zone-4 of the country. Which means that Tripura is highly vulnerable in terms of earthquake susceptibility.
