Amroha, 1 April (HS): Union Minister Jitendra Singh encouraged Panchayati Raj Institution officials on Saturday to carry Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s welfare programmes to the conclusion.
He told a conference of PRI delegates from Uttar Pradesh’s Amroha district that they may be the most significant transmitters of Prime Minister Modi’s people-centric policies and programmes since they are in direct contact with the grassroots people.
“Under Modi, panchayats are constantly being empowered,” stated Singh, the Minister of State for Personnel.
According to the minister, PRI officials, as elected representatives know who are the most in need among the lowest strata of society and can ensure that benefits reach them without regard for vote bank concerns.
He claimed that Modi represents grassroots-level democracy that is free of dynastic politics because he rose from the grassroots.
The prime minister’s confidence in PRIs and grassroots-level democracy is demonstrated by the fact that, after 70 years, Jammu and Kashmir district development council (DDC) elections were held for the first time thanks to his involvement.
Singh emphasised the necessity for time-bound completion of development programmes, as well as the deployment of innovative technology and innovations for speedier project completion without sacrificing quality, according to a statement published by the Personnel Ministry.
He said that when Modi assumed office in May 2014, about half of the country’s population lacked access to basic services such as toilets, housing, immunisation, power, and banking.
For the previous eight years, the Centre has been able to bring numerous initiatives closer to 100 percent penetration, according to Singh. According to the statement, there is a fresh determination to make India a frontline state in the globe during the next 25 years of Amrit Kaal.
He urged the PRIs to remember Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s demand to expand the reach and use of government initiatives in rural India so that no one is left behind.
Singh stated that the Modi government has repeatedly stated that there will be no shortage of cash for any of the central projects.
