New York, 01 Dec (HS): The New York Times claimed that Israel knew about the plans of the Hamas Group to attack Israel, but did not take it seriously. Israeli military and intelligence officers believed that attacking Israel is difficult for Hamas. The New York Times published a report saying that the information to Israel was available through e-mails and secret documents. The 40-page document was named ?Jericho Wall?.
The leading American newspaper analysed the documents and said ?Jericho Wall? did not mention the date of the attack (Oct 7). Description of breaking boundaries around Gaza, capturing cities in Israel, and attacking prominent military sites were part of the Hamas design.
As per the newspaper?s report, detailed planning of beginning the attack using rockets, automatic machineguns on the borders, drones, paragliders, and soldiers on the ground were mentioned. Every detail was mentioned in the documents. The New York Times said that it was not clear whether the documents were seen by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other senior political leaders.
