Delhi, 1 December (HS): The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has announced that it will be seeking public opinion from December 1 to 20 on whether Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal should resign if he is arrested.
Party convener Gopal Rai stated that this decision was made in light of the alleged conspiracy by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to have Kejriwal arrested in the “fake” liquor scam case.
According to Rai, the party will conduct a signature drive across all 2,600 polling stations in Delhi to gauge public sentiment. The party’s MP Raghav Chadha also spoke out against the BJP, accusing them of trying to destroy AAP by targeting its leader.
Despite these allegations, Kejriwal is determined to continue serving as chief minister even if he is arrested, with the support of his fellow AAP members. It remains to be seen what the outcome of the public opinion gathering will be.
