New Delhi, 12 April (HS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off Rajasthan’s first Vande Bharat Express train today (Wednesday) at 11 am. PM’s office gave this information.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the Prime Minister will flag off this train through video conference. The regular service of this train will start from tomorrow (Thursday). It will run between Ajmer and Delhi Cantt. The Prime Minister’s Office has said that this train will also stop at Jaipur, Alwar and Gurugram. This train will improve connectivity to major tourist places of Rajasthan including Pushkar, and Ajmer Sharif Dargah.
Vande Bharat Express will cover the distance from Ajmer to Delhi Cantt in 5 hours and 15 minutes. Currently, the fastest train on this route is Shatabdi Express. Shatabdi travels between Delhi Cantt to Ajmer in 6 hrs 15 mins. Vande Bharat Express will cover this distance 60 minutes earlier. This will be the 14th Vande Bharat train in the country.
An official spokesperson says that the Ajmer-Delhi Cantt Vande Bharat Express will be the world’s first semi-high speed passenger train in the High Rise Overhead Electric (OHE) sector. This train will improve the connectivity of major tourist places of Rajasthan including Pushkar, Ajmer Sharif Dargah etc. The enhanced connectivity will also boost socio-economic development in the region.
