PM Modi to Launch Game-Changing FMC Projects in Madhya Pradesh

Delhi, 29 February (H.S): On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate two first-mile connectivity (FMC) projects of Coal India worth Rs 1,393.69 crore, as per an official statement.

These projects, located in Madhya Pradesh and owned by Coal India’s arm Norther Coalfields Ltd (NCL), will greatly reduce the company’s reliance on road transportation for coal supply. The coal ministry stated that these projects will not only enhance the quality of coal supply but also promote eco-friendly means of transportation. PM Modi is expected to virtually launch the Jayant OCP CHP-SILO and the Dudhichua OCP CHP-SILO, with capacities of 15 MTPA and 10 MTPA respectively.

These projects have been developed with investments of Rs 723.50 crore and Rs 670.19 crore. This inauguration highlights the government’s efforts towards promoting sustainable and efficient infrastructural development in the country’s coal sector.
