Mumbai, 27 January (H.S): The Maharashtra government has come to an agreement with pro-Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange-Patil, who has been leading the Maratha reservation movement. After Chief Minister Eknath Shinde accepted all of their demands on Friday night, Patil announced the end of the protests. He praised the Chief Minister’s actions and even stated that he would drink juice from Shinde’s hands the following day.

The delegation sent by the Chief Minister to address Jarange’s concerns included high-ranking officials from various departments. Maharashtra Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha also spoke about the resolution of this long-standing issue, crediting Jarange for his leadership in the movement.

With this development, thousands of followers who were camped in Navi Mumbai with Patil have paused their protest and are awaiting official confirmation of the agreement reached between the government and community leaders.
