Delhi, 21 March (H.S): A crucial meeting between the leaders of the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) took place at the residence of NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar on Thursday, where the allies are expected to finalize their seat-sharing deal for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. #MVAStrategyMeeting #LokSabhaPolls
The meeting was attended by Maharashtra Congress president Nana Patole and CLP leader Balasaheb Thorat, who had returned from Delhi for the party’s Central Election Committee meeting. The MVA is a coalition of Shiv Sena (UBT), Congress, and NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) and holds a strong position in Maharashtra, which has 48 Lok Sabha seats, the second-highest in the country after Uttar Pradesh. #MahaVikasAghadi #MaharashtraPolitics
However, there seems to be some tension within the alliance as Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) chief Prakash Ambedkar expressed displeasure with the unequal treatment by Shiv Sena and NCP towards his party. #VanchitBahujanAghadi #MVAAlliance
In a surprising move, Ambedkar offered support to Congress on seven Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra, which he says is not only a goodwill gesture but also an extension of a friendly hand for a possible alliance in the future. #PrakashAmbedkar #CongressAlliance
The VBA has been eyeing to join hands with the MVA for the Lok Sabha polls, and with elections taking place in five phases starting from April 19, the parties have limited time to come to a consensus.
