The Election Commission, acting on behalf of the President, has announced March 27 as the last date for filing nomination papers, except for Bihar where March 28 is designated as the deadline due to a festival. The withdrawal of candidature can be done until March 20, except for Bihar where the deadline extends to April 2. The forthcoming general elections are scheduled to be held in seven phases, commencing from April 19 and concluding on June 1, with the vote counting slated for June 4.
