Mumbai, 20 February (H.S): The Maharashtra government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, has announced a special session of the Vidhan Sabha on Tuesday to address the long-standing issue of Maratha reservation in the state. This decision comes after much pressure and protests from the Maratha community, who have been demanding reservation benefits in education and employment for several years.
The Chief Minister assured that the reservation will be granted as per the terms of the law, and a report will be presented during the special assembly session on February 20th.
This move by the government shows their commitment towards resolving this issue and providing equal opportunities for the Maratha community. The special session will hopefully lead to a positive outcome and bring an end to the ongoing struggle for reservation.
