Ranchi, 20 April (HS): The Jharkhand government increased the dearness allowance of contract workers. It has paved the path for the increase in the monthly income of contracts ranging between 2500 to 3500.
The exercise was done under sub-section (b) of clause (V) of sub-rule (2) of Rule-25 of the Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Rules, 1972. The increment will be effective from April 1, 2023.
Unskilled labourers getting 8,571.78 per month from 2020 will get 2,220.94. more. Now such workers will be given 10,792.72 per month.
Semi-skilled workers, who were entitled to 8,977.47 in the year 2020, will get Rs 2,326.06 more from April 2023. Now such workers will get 11,303.53 per month.
The wages payable to skilled workers in the year 2020 were 11,935.06 per month. After giving a dearness allowance of 3,092.37, ?15,027.43 will be payable to such workers.
Highly skilled workers, who used to get 13,675.59 in 2020, will get 3,543.34, more from April 2023. Now such workers will get 17,218.93 as wages per month.
