PM meets his counterpart in Doha, discusses increasing bilateral cooperation

Delhi, 15 February (HS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani in Doha. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the two leaders exchanged views on enhancing bilateral cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, energy, finance and technology. They also discussed recent regional developments in West Asia. Also stressed the importance of maintaining peace and stability.

Subsequently, the Prime Minister attended a dinner hosted in his honor by the Prime Minister of Qatar. The Prime Minister arrived in Doha yesterday on an official visit to Qatar. This is the Prime Minister’s second visit to Qatar. He visited Qatar for the first time in June, 2016. The Prime Minister was welcomed at the airport by Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al-Muraikhi. Today the Prime Minister will meet the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and discuss bilateral as well as regional and global issues.
