Delhi, March 15 (H.S): Gyanesh Kumar and Sukhbir Singh Sandhu, the recently appointed Election Commissioners, are poised to assume their roles in office on Friday. Their appointments were formalized by a notification issued by the Central government on Thursday evening, following the resignation of Election Commissioner Arun Goel.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, leading a three-member committee, made the decision to appoint Kumar and Sandhu. The selection process involved the Prime Minister, the leader of the opposition, and a designated union Cabinet minister.

Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury participated as the opposition representative in the panel, alongside the Prime Minister and union Home Minister Amit Shah.

This appointment holds significant importance as it ensures the smooth conduct of elections and upholds fairness in the electoral process. #ElectionCommission #NewAppointments #FairElections #GovernmentDecisions #PoliticalProcess #LeadershipChanges #PrimeMinisterModi
