Delhi Court to Resume Hearing on Arvind Kejriwal’s Challenge Against Summons

A Delhi sessions court, led by Additional Sessions Judge Rakesh Syal, is scheduled to reconvene on Friday to address an application lodged by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, contesting #summons issued by a lower court.

The summons stem from two complaints filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) regarding Kejriwal’s alleged evasion of summonses in a #moneylaundering case linked to an excise scam. Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Divya Malhotra had previously granted Kejriwal exemption from personal appearance on February 17, allowing him to appear via video conference, and directed him to appear before the court on March 16.

However, Kejriwal has challenged the second order issued by the ACMM on March 7, which also summoned him for March 16. The sessions judge will hear arguments from both sides on Friday and subsequently rule on Kejriwal’s plea. This case has attracted considerable attention due to its involvement of the Delhi chief minister and the allegations of financial impropriety. #LegalProceedings #EnforcementDirectorate #ExciseScam #DelhiCourt #ChiefMinisterKejriwal
